CTF Summer Program
Over the summer, our team administered multiple classes in the fundamentals of programming and the importance of cyber security. Cyber security is not a topic taught in most high schools and our classes were aimed toward bringing cyber security literacy to high schoolers who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to learn about it.
The CTF summer program gave me a great introduction to coding! I was initially intimidated by all of the different languages, but with the help of my instructors I quickly became more comfortable completing individual programming projects and participating in debugging sessions. The program also gave me great foundational skills for additional coding classes took later on, where I further explored the basics of Python and Java. I’m so grateful that I was able to participate in the CTF summer program and build my programming skills!

I thought the CTF program was an incredibly helpful project and helped me build my skills in numerous different programming languages. I was able to gain exposure to many different languages I otherwise wouldn’t have had any experience with. The program also allowed me to experiment with the languages I learned. For example, through an HTML class offered in the CTF program, I learned the fundamentals of HTML and was able to apply my learnings to create and customize my own website. I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of such an amazing team and I do feel that my experience with the program allowed me to gain valuable experience and a newfound appreciation for programming.

I thought that the CTF program was incredibly helpful and thoroughly enjoyable. It helped me learn the fundamentals of Python, a programming language that was new to me, as well as build my skills in the programming languages I had already had some experience with. For instance, a class in CTF program helped me expand my knowledge of HTML and apply it to build my own website and customize it using CSS. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing team. I believe that the CTF program was a wonderful experience that helped foster my interest in cybersecurity and develop various skills both within and outside the realm of computer science.

Along with classes, our team developed a Capture The Flag exercise for those interested in gaining cybersecurity skills.
