What I learnt about managing passwords?

Today, instead of worrying about people breaking into our homes, we worry about if we might wake up the next morning to realize that all our money has vanished from our bank accounts.

In order to decrease our worrying, we keep a password, similar to a lock at the front of our house. But how do we ensure that it isn’t easy to guess? Here are a few things you can remember

1. Avoid using personal information
The first and most important rule is to not use personal information that is easily accessible through your social media accounts and forms you fill.
2. Remember to keep your passwords long
Having a longer password makes it harder to guess so, you should have a minimum of 8 characters.
3. Do not write the password down
The paper on which you write could easily be stolen. An interesting tool used by some people is to use a phrase or a line from a song like “It’s the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” could become “1tMmC1ub” to remember your passwords easily.
4. Do not use the same password on different platforms
Most people use the same password on all platforms to decrease the number of passwords they have to remember but, a hacker accessing that password could use it to find a lot of information from you from different accounts unlocked by that password.

5. Multi Factor Authentication
Multi-factor authentication is an authentication system in which a user is granted access to a website only after presenting two or more pieces of evidence to an authentication method. It provides extra layers of security so that even if hackers have your password, they still wouldn’t be able to log into your accounts.

By following these methods, you can now lock your online door and know that you are safe.
